What Is CEREC?

CEREC (short for CEramic REConstruction) is a dental restoration system that incorporates everything needed to give you a new crown in one visit: a digital intraoral scanner to record an accurate 3D impression of your teeth, 3D design software and a milling machine to create the new crown.

Our highly skilled lab techs craft exceptionally aesthetic and lifelike new crowns, including custom hand-staining to match your natural teeth. They use the highest quality materials, including zirconia, e.max porcelain or layered porcelain, and everything is customized to meet your unique needs.

We design all of our crowns to require only the bare minimum of tooth preparation. This allows us to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, thus avoiding root canals and enabling longer lasting results.

Can I really get a crown in one visit?

In many cases, yes. Our office uses the CEREC system, which combines a digital intraoral scanner, 3D design software and a milling machine, so we can design and make a custom crown during a single appointment in Midtown Manhattan. That means no temporary crown and no need to be numbed a second time.

How much does a same-day crown cost in NYC?

Crown fees depend on the tooth, the material chosen and what the tooth needs. As a fee-for-service practice, we'll examine the tooth and give you a clear estimate before treatment. We are out-of-network with insurance but can file claims for most major PPO plans, and financing through CareCredit and Cherry is available.

What materials are your crowns made from?

Our lab technicians use high-quality materials, including zirconia, e.max porcelain and layered porcelain, and customize each crown to your needs. Crowns can be custom hand-stained to match your natural teeth. During your visit, we'll recommend a material based on where the tooth is and what it needs.
